    The author substantiates the possibility of organizing and administering the preprofessional training of athletes in comprehensive schools beginning from the fifth form. Nowadays there has increased contradiction between society's went of highly qualified teachers and the need of pedagogical training and insufficient theoretical and practical elaboration of preprofessional training gifted athletes in comprehensive schools. The author defines such key notions as "pedagogical strategy" and "preprofessional training of athletes in comprehensive schools". It is essential to organize the special sports classes in comprehensive schools, so that to orientate the students to choose their profession and prepare themselvea for their entering a physical culture college. This modern of educational and organizational work is connected with the strategic change to twelve-year comprehensive schooling.
