    One can speak with confidence, that national hand-to-hand competitions are a steady element of culture of all traditional societies and carry out the essentially important functions in the life of a society and each member of it. For the first time the author incorporates the bases for implementation of Russian national wrestling "by collar" (za vorotok) in the modern system of physical education. The further studying and development of national kinds of sports will enrich the Russian system of physical training with traditional elements of military competitive-game culture of Russian people, that will have a positive effect on the education of the rising generation.
