    The Olympic philately was born together with the modern Olympic games. The becoming and the development of sports philately is closely bound with the genesis of the Olympic movement. The philately together with the periodic press was the basic source of the knowledge about the Olympic movement in the period from 1896 till 1912. The philately promoted moral and aesthetic education. In the moral sense it brought up the patriotism, partiality to the events occurring in the country, the social activity, mercy etc. Stamps as the subject of art forms are the tune of feelings and ideas of people. The philatelic material is the subject for collecting, which displaying on international philatelic exhibitions as against the newspapers and magazines. Since July 1896 till October, 1912 17 exhibitions - in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Austria were carried out. One of them passed in 1900, during the Games of IInd Olympiad. The plots of the stamps gave people an opportunity to join historical and national experience of the Greeks far away from them culturally and geographically. The information handed in the language of philately is more popular, more easy, than the verbal information, is acquired by other peoples.
