The aim of this paper was to analyze the history of the VNIIFK's biomechanics laboratory in connection with the development of the world famous scientific school having been created their by I. P. Ratov. The methodological creed of that scientific team was concentrated in the idea of " physical exercises ". Each of them was represented as the specially organized process of the man's power interaction with the environment directed to determination of the certain trace transformations in organism's functional systems. The authors describe the theoretical and practical realizations of that conception by them and their co - workers.
