    The purpose of this paper was to reveal the basic tendencies in the modern science on physical culture. The author - the main theoretic of physical culture in Russia, highlights the following topics: - about one of general tendencies of the dynamics of a science; - from the theory of physical education - to the general theory of physical culture; - about some debatable motives around of the theory of physical culture. He offers to change the official name of the science on physical culture also. It sounds like "Theory and technique of physical education, sports training, improving and adaptive physical culture" today, but Lev Matveyev sees it as "theory of physical culture" or "physculturology".
