    The beginning of XXIst century has set the task of the profound studying of the heritage becoming already the history of the Soviet period of development of the Russian state. It has pushed the foreground the problem of the choice of the way of the perfection of sports movement in new socioeconomic and social conditions. Having familiarized with scientific researches of the Soviet period of the development of the sports movement, the author has revealed their orientation on the studying of physical culture and sports in scale of all country or republics and with the absence of such researches concerning the separate regions of the country. This distinction has induced him to the research of the sports movement of Western Siberia in 80-90s, which is presented in the article.
