    The history of the development of kinds of orienteering in the world specifies the independent becoming of racing and ski orienteering. But they are under aegis of the one International federation of orienteering. In the USSR they were incorporated into one kind of sports "sports orienteering". Nevertheless, global distinctions in the conditions of the competitive activity do not allow the using of uniform techniques of training for racing and skiing orienteering. The athletes of Russia should have higher level of the specialized preparedness in these kinds of sports for the successful appearance at the largest international competitions. The all-the-year-round specialized training process should be organized for this purpose. The tendencies of the development of the different kinds of orienteering in the world dictate such necessity. Unfortunately, the scientific-methodical organization of training process for ski orienteering only starts to be formed in Russia.
