    The authors tell about the research and pedagogical activity of the professor Nikolay Nikolayevich Yakovlev. He was the outstanding biochemist, the pupil of the professor N.V. Veselkin. The article contains the information on the professional becoming and the most important researches of the scientist. The results of researches of professor Nikolay Nikolayevich Yakovlev were included in textbooks on the theory and the technique of physical culture and sports training, on the physiology of sports and were widely used in construction of educational-training process of elite athletes.
