    The authors describe the history of development of chess in Vietnam and prospects of their development nowadays. Nowadays in the country there is a harmonious system of competitions bringing the exclusive results: the number of highly skilled chess players and female chess players increases, their rating raises, the structure of national, Olympic, male, female and youth teams amplifies and, accordingly, their results grow. The big achievement of Vietnamese female chess players is the victory on the Elista World chess Olympiad over one of the strongest female combined teams of the world - the team of Georgia.
