    The purpose of the research was to study the dynamics of the basic parameters of start with the growth of result in horizontal jumps and the definition of directions of its perfection, optimization of its rhythm and lengths on this basis. The carried out analysis proves the inexpediency of the variant of start used by many jumpers, with quiet slow beginning of start and active running on the last steps of start. The increase of speed of start creates for jumpers the additional difficulties at the performance of pushing away and demands significant time for its perfection under the conditions of the increased speed. Besides some increase of length of the pieces run by jumpers with the maximal speed in sprinter training is necessary for the increase of length of start.
