    In 2005 the Tyumen state university (TumSU), one of conducting high schools of Western Siberia, is 75. According to the results of the annual rating of the Ministry of Education and science the Tyumen state university is included into the 20 of the best high schools of Russia nowadays. In the structure of the university there are 5 institutes, 16 branches and 4 representations. 76 faculties carry out the training of experts in 39 specialties. The contingent of students of full-time, correspondence department and remote learning makes about 38 thousand person. More than 150 doctors and 500 Ph.D.s work at the high school. There are 13 dissertational councils there. Rather intensive development of TumSU including the field of physical culture and sports, has fallen to the last decade.
