    The purpose of the research is the optimization of the educational process of students from the academy of physical training by the complex estimation of the preparedness for the pedagogical activity. The research was carried out in comprehensive schools of Velikie Luki from April, 1 till May, 24 in 2003 and in 2004. 176 students have taken part in it. Before the beginning of the pedagogical practice personal properties and reflective abilities prevailed at students. After the passage of the teaching practice there were changes in all four blocks ("Personal qualities", "Constructive abilities", "Communicative-organizing abilities", "Reflective abilities"), and the most essential - in the first and the third ones. There is revealed the essential interrelation between the separate abilities of a person and the level of professional preparedness. It proves, that the teaching practice has a training, developing and adaptive character.
