    The author offers the following innovations in teaching the subject "History of physical culture and sports" (HPCS): to teach the history of the origin and development of the regularities of physical culture and sports at lectures , and to concentrate the basic attention on the historical aspects of numerous specific principles on seminar occupations and during the independent work of students. Many aspects of perfection of the educational activity on HPCS have found their reflection in the issued by the author in 2002 federal curriculum and the manual for students of the higher educational institutions training on the specialty 033100 - "Physical culture" with the signature stamp of the education-methodical council of high schools of the Russian Federation on the pedagogical education, that sustained 3 editions.
