This article considers some aspects of the criminalization of physical culture and sports sphere and the criminal-legal influence on the relations in the sphere of sports. The paper presents and analyzes normative acts regulating the issues of criminal responsibility in the sphere of sports, identified the system of criminal acts that infringe on sports relations. We consider five groups of crimes that revealed the specific target of criminal attacks, which are directed to the sphere of sport. The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, providing for liability for violation of various kinds of social relations, yet contains only one article that directly mentions called the scope, namely Article 184 of the Criminal Code, which seems to us insufficient. In this regard, there is a need to introduce new rules in detail governing the criminal liability for the ever growing crime in the sport with the right qualification of acts and a clear mechanism of action.
