    The purpose of this study was to consider the main aspects in the sociology of physical culture as independent scientific discipline of the sociologic science. The author shows the formation and development of sports sociology in the aspects of its scientific and educational role. She substantiates the tasks of the sociology in physical culture and sports and sifinines the priorities the sociological studies in the area of that culture space. The author classificates classificates the factors determening success in the determining success in the development of the mass forms in physical culture and sports movements. The sociology of physical culture and sport is represented in connection with the realization of its descriptive, explanatory and heuristic functions. One of the main problems of sports sociology, according to the author's opinion is the formation of a personality's and a societe's attitude the values of physical culture and the sports life style.
