    The author gives a widespread review of the historical foundations of tourism's science. He highlighted its main points and analyzed other sciences' contributions into it. The author also had introduced a modern development of tourist science, noted the most known scientific works and some authoritative organizations in that field. At the end of the article the author estimated Russian tourist academy's contribution to the world tourist science's development.
