Изучены психолого-педагогические труды отечественных ученых, а также рассмотрен опыт педагогов-практиков; определена сущность понятия "воспитание патриотизма", представлены результаты социологического опроса подростков, приведены формы и методы воспитания патриотизма обучающихся.
The life of modern society requires the development of active citizenship among teenagers, involving them into useful community activities, calling for a healthy lifestyle as well as physical and moral development. In Russia the idea of patriotism should be a fundamental one to form generally valid views, standpoints, ideology of the younger generation and their commitment to active efforts for the good of the country. True patriotism requires the formation and development of positive personal qualities that are based on moral and spiritual as well as social aspects. Patriotism combines morality, citizenship and social activities of the person who realizes his or her love for the country. The psychological and pedagogical works of native scientists have been studied as well as the teachers’ experience has been examined to find out the special aspects of patriotic education among teenagers in the modern school setting. As a result of analyzed information consolidation the essence of the concept "patriotic education" has been defined, the results of opinion poll among teenagers have been presented; the forms and methods of patriotic education among learners have been reported.
